Story Of The Cross

The story of the cross
For Him to die was a must,
So our sins can be sort,
This is His story,
For those who know him not,

Few were taught,
All was lost, and for some the cock had crowed.
He had being denied,
While for some, it was total betrayal and death.

How could it be?
Our minds thinkng our saviour is gone,
Crucified at the place of skull
Dice rolled, garment torn
Crown of thorns placed on his head for mock,
Hails could be heard "King of the jews"

By His side two theives were crucified to fulfil destiny
Vinegar to quench thirst
His life was lost in a loud cry
The earth rumbled, quaked andmountains fell.
Darkness covered theearth,
Finally the temple torn.

Rest in peace where the words from the meek,
Battle ready, had he gone to fight the Hades.
He is all prepared to changehistory,
Awaken in sleep,
His spirit fought for the key,
Destroying death at the gate of hell.

Seventy two divide three,
Three days after,
He was risen,
For all tosee.
Then came victory
Putting away the shame of the brethrens

How could this be?
The Eleven echoed,
Believe me or not she said,
He has risen
He appeared to them but this time for them to take heed
Saying an helper would come,
So that His words would not go unfulfilled.
He was recieved into heaven's for the world to see,
So his word couldspread far into the world,
For them to believe and be saved
Only for those strong enough to bear the cross,
This is the wonderful story of the cross.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It occurred that evening at the Calvary which created a stir in history. On that old rugged cross our Savior beared it all and offered himself as sacrifice to redeem the human race. The sacred blood that was spilled wiped clean the sinner's fate. Christ paid the price for everyone and carried our weight. A willing heart endured the pain, and paved the way. He opened the eyes of every man to whom he came to save. THE STORY OF THE CROSS
