Stranded Between Two Worlds Poem by Christopher Tye

Stranded Between Two Worlds

Stranded Between Two Worlds

So am I human or not,
Does the Autism define me,
Or do I define the Autism,
Stranded between two worlds.

So are we human or not,
Who has the right to judge us,
We can define history and the arts,
Change physics and music forever,
But nobody sees us as being quite human.

The words never quite seem to form,
So much humanity but are we human,
If our bodies are human,
Why are our brains neurodiverse,
Stranded between two worlds.
