Strange Night Poem by Seun Bewaji

Strange Night

The strange night unveiled
Darkness dropped its curtain
Stars withdrew their light
The moon failed to shine

The traitor covered himself
With the curtain of darkness
He went from the table
After taking the morsel

He negotiated with the enemy
To sell out his friend
He betrayed the innocent
For the price of slave

He drew him so close
And held him tightly
To give him a kiss
A token of betrayal
