Streetlight Poem by Ramesh Iyengar

Streetlight

Streetlight
A streetlight is a yogic saint.
Its meditation is straight, upward.
Be it rain or shine,
It moves not.
You scold. It speaks not.
Emits light, brightens below everything.
Its silence is Swamiji's silence.
Spreading wisdom around.
A firm saint, remains fixed.
He moves nowhere. No travels.
A glow of brilliance seen around.
Unmoved, unshaken, unspoken,
A unique thing.
