Strength Poem by Given Kolomu

Strength

I was a night owl when pain would start to hunt me down.

It blaze like a flame fire, It burned like an oven.

I saw my life fading like a light turning into the dark

I tried and I tried and tried but always failed to get away

It pulled me like gravity.

My feelings started taking different routes.

I didn't know my own strength

I didn't know my own strength

I had melancholy, I find so much happiness dancing with drugs

I tried to fall in love me thinking I'll be happy

but time was not so kind to me.

I felt like a rat surrounded by snakes

watching your own soul drowning into pain.

I saw my heart breaking down into tears

My nostrils smiled when it smelled the sound of blood

I was drowning in my thoughts

I didn't know my own strength.
