Strength Poem by Chris Townsend

Strength

Touched by heaven I feel my hell,
Tough movie, hard sell,
As the world texts me to tell me why,
I listen to my heart, I forgive them their lies,
I wonder if my part in this play makes any sense,
As I stand before these people, ignore the consequence,
Wonder gives way for an angry burst of hate,
All these stupid people, trying to relate,
I touch a life and make my difference known,
A swirl of emotion, my heart is thrown,
A warm sunrise a lowly sight to see,
All the things that deeply please, the inner sanctity, within me,
For me to think, to get past the blocks,
I have to uncage my inner person, release the locks,
I have to take these moments and make a string,
All my memories all the things to bring,
