Stress (2003) Poem by David Joel Rodriguez

Stress (2003)

Rating: 4.5

Skies tear as I begin to cry
Weeping at the parted clouds
No explanation as to why...
My swindled mind wanted to shout!

The urge of just letting go...
What's it like to release?
What happens if you never know?
What if right now I want peace?

The adrenaline kicks up into high gear...
Engaging me into another terminus...
The vacant atmosphere leaves me without fear...
I managed to conquer the distress.

My damage has been done...no regrets.
Yet, I wonder if the ache will return,
There are times I can't handle the threats...
Times trying to figure out where to turn...

I'll get over the tears that have left me...
The physical damage; causing a raging spree...
Minding my business not letting me be...
Maybe one day, I will be set free...
