Strings Of A Lonely Puppet - Poem by Alex Hale

I wish I was like the children
So happy and free
Who can run and flee
I try to run
I try to flee
But these strings keep pulling back on me
I want to know why
Why is it that when I cut these strings
And I try to fly
That they tie back together
And pull on me
