Stumble Upon Poem by Gary Winkel

Stumble Upon

Rating: 5.0

Stumble upon
the beauty of
quiet reflection.
Fall in degrees
by poet's hand.
Long enough
to settle upon
breathing deeply aware
of how close
the signs are.

Stumble upon
the wonder of
her movements across
the cafe floor
into my silent
safety net
where beautiful strangers
remain strangers.
Sipping slowly
my remote observation.

Stumble upon
shadow and light
of whole truths
in romantic dimensions.
Relatively curved blues
looking back at
blond in black.
No passion, but
high on
the skinny moment.

Stumble upon
the next century
still looking out
at the places
far enough away
to reach, but
not to touch.
Jazz intrigue.
Alarmed, I
may disconnect.
