Stupid, Suspicious Us Poem by Juli Watson

Stupid, Suspicious Us

The things I dare not dream of
You shouldn't know that
The worst question yet-
Was I one of them?
You block it out
We relive your habits daily
In our world of perpetual worry
Anxiety By Proxy
How could you have possibly known?
You'll have a resolute reply
You always do
Stupid, suspicious us.
