Subtle Temptation Poem by Kurt Hearth

Subtle Temptation

The song of adventure.

Can you hear it summoning?
Listen closely my friend.
It croons in a whisper,
deceptively soft, luring.

It will appeal to your senses.
Salt, o’ the ocean air.
Freshness, ‘top a mountain’s peak.
The distant horizon’s beckon.

Hark, and be warned!
For lover’s hearts, it breaks.
Its hunger insatiable, irresistible.
Never giving, always taking.

Should your will be fragile,
close tight your ears.
Lest you fall prey,
to its seductive charm.

Yes, you are not, immune.
Surely, you shall succumb,
should you ever heed to.
Subtle temptation
