Summer Holidays Poem by Brooke Rose

Summer Holidays

Summer Holidays have come to Australia
Thongs and singlets are formal regalia
With sun surf and beer
for most of the year,
Hats for all different sorts,
With the beach and the pool,
Air conditioner so cool,
Summer holidays have come to Australia,
Wearing nothing can count as regalia.
