Summer Set Poem by Lilac Time

Summer Set

Rating: 5.0

Music goes deep
In color
Like the sunset of the summer
Now I remember
Blushing reds
The glow of your cheek
I could feel the heat radiating from you
From your nose down to your feet
Every cell soaked with sun light
Dripping with warmth
How your smile holds me close
Your gaze is inviting
Your eyelashes are long and curved
Like the sweeping slopes of mountains
Words trip over your tongue
And roll out of your mouth
They land in my thoughts
They’re so tender
Their touch is delicate
Like a humming bird,
Sipping from a fountain
Of sweet nectar
What a beautiful sight
Your image, your presence
You’re the flicker of candlelight
That ignites my soul
Your velvet voice
Cradles and rocks my mind
It coos goodnight…
But how could I dream
Of anything more serene?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The first couple of lines are a few week sold, the rest was just thoughts I had earlier today. I decided to put them together because I thought they were pretty. I don't really know what this is about because it just randomly came to me today. I think it was brought on by hearing birds chirping early in the morning. I just write my feelings how they come so I don't always have explanations as to why or what they mean.

Your explanation of your poem gave it even more beauty. That is the way poetry is born....I commend you for emptying your thoughts to share with others. I hope you continue to submit more. I too found my spirits uplifted today by the bird's symphonies....long awaited. PEACE
