Sunlight Poem by Aaron Waingrow

Sunlight

When you wake to watch your sunrise
I have just laid down to close my eyes
And when your day is strong at its peak
Through my windows for me it will sneak
Eight thousand miles may seem so far away
But timed right we share a part of each day
Talking each night and day sharing who we are
Helps make the gap shrink and not seem so far
If we give a home to one another in our heart
Then we will never ever truly be that far apart
My sunlight is at its peak and so very strong
As yours fades, giving way to night so long
Closing your eyes as you start to nod
The cycle starts over because of God
