Sunrise Poem by Speedy Hartman

Sunrise

i come i sit i wait
i’m drawn to the dark
but it’s not the dark
i came to see

it is a creation that happens
so frequent we take it for granted
a birth like no other
a birth only God can perform

the magic way that a day begins
the colors only a great artist could make
the hint of light a pale blue
glimpse of crimson to a almost blood red

an array of colors reflecting off the water
adding to the splendor twice fold
but it’s the ball of fire, deliverer of all life
a bright glowing red that grabs your attention

for you must watch quick
soon the beautiful sunrise
is now an ordinary day
