Sunroof Peacock Poem by Konalli Rajeev Naik

Sunroof Peacock

Rating: 3.0

The majestic sunroof peacock
Opens the waving wings to dance
In the metal bodied reflector
Of my new Hyundai i20 car
That sojourns at our front yard.
The sunroof peacock's insolent neck
Is like the cheer girl's neck
Which crooks for
The thrilling sixers
At the twenty twenty cricket match.
Split out kisses from the lips
Are really the honey sprays
It is not like pick and peck
Of worms and reptiles
It is like a mother fondling
Her loving infant.
Beak begetting splendid
Line drawing irritates me.
The peacock of countless eyes
Slides easily from the sunroof
My wife tries to catch
The image on the mobile screen
But the startled peacock's eyes
Swell with tear balls.
Rapid urbanization has swallowed
Woods, bushes and hedges
Alas! the helpless peacock shrivels
The body reflector has to put on dress
To end the bird's dance show.
