Sunset Poem by Bill Wright

Sunset

The blood red orb,
Sinks slowly in the distance,
On the edge of the horizon.

Going to sleep,
Behind far away hills,
Casting shadows on the sea.

Folk stand, glasses in hand,
Mouths wide open,
Watching God's free show.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Where I live by the sea is renowned for spectacular sunsets. In the summer you frequently see hundreds of people just standing watching the sun go down.
