Sunshine Kids Poem by Alan Mora

The sun shines through all cloudy days
to warm our minds and ease our pains.
The sun is bright and it will stay
to make our troubles go away.

As strangers once we came to meet
for one sole cause as one we'll beat.
We stand too tall to see defeat
the struggle's hard but the reward is sweet.

As we've learned to live with love above,
we've learned to smile when times get rough.
We've lived to see and seen we have
our strength within will always last
for we are strong to accept this test,
this shining hope fulfills our quest.

Our paths in life will soon define
the way to leave all pain behind.
With that in mind I thank Sunshine,
you helped us heal our scars of time.
