Surrender - Poem by Lynzi Berner

You win!
I cry to the stars
The fight was long
the battle costly
but it was the surrender
that killed

The surrender of myself
my heart
my soul

The white flag waved free
now tainted
sporatically covered in
what remains of my broken soul

The flag has flown
my weapons drawn
and placed at the feet

Honor me
Kiss me
you have already killed me
