Surrender Poem by Nina gáspari

Surrender

I remember your smile
So let me sit back and think about it for a while
Maybe I should put it down into words
Ain´t it crazy how life goes?
I often read wise words, but are they really true?
I guess nobody really knows..
For a moment or two
I thought I had just seen you
It was an illusion, now I see
My eyes were playing tricks on me
Your smile became a sort of religion
My salvation from oblivion
It was all I needed to get by
Never needed any drugs, your love was my high
Time has passed, some wrinkles on my face
But our moments together stood through the test of age
My eyes have changed, cause I have changed
People do as well, change.
But your smile´s still the same
Just like I remember
Thinking about it
Smiling as I surrender..
