Suspicious Me Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Suspicious Me

A shadow follows, dark and deep,
Wherever I may softly creep.
Eyes watch close, a silent plea,
Is something hidden here, in me?

Perhaps I seem a curious thing,
A bird that doesn't quite take wing.
But fear me not, I'm honest true,
In all I say, in all I do.

My words spill out, a rushing stream,
Too quick perhaps, a foolish dream.
I've paid the cost, for being bare,
For truthfulness, beyond compare.

Life's tangled rules, I try to see,
To walk the path, correctly, free.
So trust my heart, though shadows play,
I mean no harm, along the way.
