A fantastic work by a very good friend and its creator,
Leontios Petmezas.
'Existing Ones' [Yparktes].
Human figures who never cease to monopolize our thoughts—and the unjust categorizations imposed upon human beings.
Malicious people—who have never known suffering themselves, yet seek to inflict it on others, to mock them, and—worst of all—to exploit innocent childhood souls. To what end?
To build profitable enterprises based on coercion and the commodification of those very hopes that children cling to—tooth and nail—to keep them alive, lest they perish far, far too soon—for them, and for all of us.
Every child embodies a hope; every pain they feel is also our own—provided it possesses its essential, authentic component:
Empathy—as opposed to that wave of callousness that threatens to swallow them up; and, most wretched and loathsome of all—on the part of those who exploit them—
The exploitation of human suffering, of that deep-seated pessimism and every desperate, last-ditch effort to endure—not to hold back tears, for torrents of them have already flooded their daily lives. Except for that one hope—that tiny glimmer of light amidst the gathering clouds that now weigh heavily upon them—and within that darkness where not the slightest sign of a light at the end of the tunnel appears... a tunnel they traverse without complaint, yet with deep anguish of soul, mind, and heart.
