she pranced around the
antiqueness of a room where
i spent a chapter of the
majesty of my youth laughing
with my suzie q as i
wrapped my slender arms around
the silkiness of her neck,
and as she two-stepped around
the grandchildren she had yet to witness grow
into the souls they had been destined
to become, i couldn't help but smile
at the beauty that lied within
her beaming smile and the
wisdom that radiated from her
deep eyes through the center of
one's soul as she danced
yes, she danced and the
jingles of blues were playing
softly in the background.
