Swap Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Swap

The darkness has brought
upon me every burden
They choke me, you choke me
I flap for air, in vain
Death has awakened
Let me run away
Your apocalyptic eyes are
Swallowing me whole.

Crawling beneath my flesh
I can feel you cling tightly
The night will eat the sun
Life has put me in a cave
I rot, I tear at my skin
You are a monster
Clawing at me ferociously
From the inside.
