Sweet Dreams Of Freedom Poem by Mary Champion

Sweet Dreams Of Freedom

To soar without wings
through a wide-open sky,
feel the breeze brush my limbs
as it gently wafts by.
Without weight, without care,
exultant and free,
I would glide through the air
with no ties binding me.

To lift up my face
to the warmth of the sun,
to dance with such grace
as I never have done,
to sing my own song,
every note sweet and clean,
to be where I belong.
all of this is my dream.
