Sweet White Wine Poem by Robyn Dyhr

Sweet White Wine

Feelings
a vineyard full
of blended hopes,
maybes and might have beens.

Promises and sorrows
gathered over a lifetime
bottled up and placed in storage
in the basement of my mind.

A cellar filled with memories
to ferment or sweeten
to be turned occasionally
but quietly nurtured just the same.

When they have mellowed
and I have matured
with soft music, candlelight
and fine silver
I shall decant them and let them breathe.

Those that are soured
I shall pour out and discard.
Be there, to drink with me
the sweet white wine
of contentment
the fruit of memories
well loved.
