Swimming Monster Poem by Jared Long

Swimming Monster

My Life has been changed forever,
in the brightest hour of my darkest day,
I lost my leg to a swimming monster,
never again can I enjoy my passion,
that I once thrived off of.

Who knew such a beast,
would pick me for his feast.
I can never forgive the animal,
for taking my loved passion away.

I can never stop wiping the tears away,
I never want to get out of bed,
I can only replay the moment through my head.
It's just hard to pick which moment,
the shark? Or surfing?
