While the light waits in the doorway,
The darkness is already inside,
It needs no invitation,
It needs no place to hide,
It waits for it's moment,
The nod to say it's time,
To destroy, maim and conquer,
Like natures own landmine.

Now light on the other hand is different,
It waits to be invited in,
To be asked 'please help, don't let the darkness win',
It shines in all its glory,
It shouts i'm here to stay,
It drowns out all the shadows,
And guides you on your way.

Now which will you call master? ,
Which will you let win? ,
If you choose the darkness,
It'll destroy you from within,
You'll be its only victim,
Left alone in shame to cry,
To wallow in your sadness,
Until the day you die.

If you choose the light,
You beg it to come inside,
To help destroy the darkness,
To make the pain subside,
The road may not always be easy,
It may not be the smoothest course,
Each path you may take is different,
All you have to do is find yours.
