Symphony Poem by Tom Allport

Symphony

The right mix of cement
Gives a start to an event
With plum line Bob
Straight on the job
Bricks laid in lines
Follow an upward design
Brickies laugh and nod
Hungry for another hod
The musical ringing of trowels
Harmonising with labourers scowls
Just some sights, sounds of a building plan
Combine to make a symphony for common man.
