Synopsis Of Fear Poem by Janice Harris

Synopsis Of Fear

I emerged shivering from the icy water
Every bone in my body pounding and aching
My face blank with bewilderment
Searching for answers
I froze as I tried to make sense of my surroundings
Everything played back in slow motion in my head
My heart beating violently within my chest
Screaming to be let out of this cage
The thing that drove me in
Is the thing that drove me out
Thoughts rush in like rain
How did I end up in the water
I stared motionless
Fear consumed me
Overtook me like the waves I fought against
So there I stood as I had entered
Consumed with fear
