Take A Bite Poem by Prafulla Sahu

Take A Bite

Take a bite

My grandson came with a heart shaped biscuit
Hopping and giggling said:
Grandpa!
It is too big
It cannot be my heart
Is it yours?

I said: Bite

'Nay you will be in pain'
He said.

I said biscuits are sweet,
Hearts are sweeter
My heart is the sweetest
Take a bite, crunch
You will taste it sweet
And I will ache sweet.

With the touch of your tiny teeth
And rosy soft lips
My heart wil turn into a pumphouse of honey.

I wish
My heart were a crunchy biscuit.
