Take A Moment Poem by Paul Burt

Take A Moment

Time has been rolling by
Seeing all the changes in the world around me
Some for the better some for the worst
Yet I'm still stuck in my ways
So many times I could have turned things around
but I never took the chance
Was it fear of failure or fear of change
I can't truly tell the difference

Take a moment to reflect on it all
I forgot there were some good times
They might not be as many as I wished there could be
Those moments is why I still breathe
That's why I'm still alive

Had Misery more than happiness
Lost more than I have gained
Why is it this way I wish I knew
One thing that is for certain
I don't want to live with this dark cloud over my head
I don't want misery to define me

I Just want to be happy!
That's all I ever ask for!

Take a moment to reflect on it all
I forgot there were some good times
They might not be as many as I wished there could be
Those moments is why I still breathe
That's why I'm still alive

Time has been rolling by
I've let many good things pass me by
yes I'm still stuck in my ways
but not for very much longer
