Take Me Home Poem by Abednego Oghenechovwiere Omashone

Take Me Home

I know of a place
Yes, deep within; it's no play.
Where fields forever grow,
where clean springs forever flow,
where no ill wind ever blow,
where no, foxes ever growl
where the gazelle for ages roam,
and none is to eternally moan.

I know of a place,
finer than my grand ma's lace.
Where love resides in truth,
where none is old; just new,
where rain drops fall like dew,
where the grains are much, not few.
Where the sky is always blue,
roses seated, as in the pew

I know of a place,
there, I've loved to play,
where mum and dad wants to be,
like the saints who've fought to be
where man need not like bees sting,
but like the airy birds, sing.
I know of a place,
found at the end of one way.
A place, I'll fain to be,
ev'n though I must believe,
yet, I'm sure of the calm relieve,
that I will get, when I've found the prince of peace.

I know of a place
for real, I know a place.
But alas! I know not the way.
The country's map beside me lay,
I'll read, and read, til I know the way.
Know you the way?
Take me home...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This piece, I so much love it. Though it's just a chip from a big iceberge of conflicting emotions that run within, I felt elated after writing it.
Born a Baptist, still a Baptist, but as the day grow older, the curiosity to know the truth has become a burning passion I so much detest to satisfy. I think I know a bit of most world religions, ranging from African Traditional Religion, to Christianity, to Islam, Judaism, Grail Message, etc. I tried analysing them, trying to find anchorage. Even within the Christian religion, we have a legion of factions, and so many to list but none.
However, deep within, I know there is the TRUTH. The place I know. I will say here, that the Bible has been my point of reference in my analysis. I know that knowing the TRUTH will certainly bring the goodies that comes with the truth (freedom of the soul) . I know this world did not exist just by chance. All religions, except the atheist share this view. Now the question is: which is the right way to serve this Almigthy?
This question has led to my writing of several poems: 'Fair Ethiope Bird', 'A Bunch of Misery', and yet unpublished, 'The Way Home'.
I want to know the truth, because I know there is a place, where I've longed to play. That place, I can view within me, is finer than my Grandma's lace...
