Take My Life And Let Me Be Poem by Lois Oluwole Oluwole

Take My Life And Let Me Be

I go to bed one day praying I don't wake up the next
wake up the next praying I don't make it through the day.
A life cycle of absolute hatred and regret
Life is scary but
Death is scarier.
that's why I can't do it myself
I just pretend I can make it through and
that I'm not a quitter.
I tried
I really tried
but I can't do it myself.
So instead, I just pray Life does it for me.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
On one of my darkest days, I poured my heart out on a paper. This was how I truly felt that day.
