Take Up My Soul

Take up my soul Lord, hold it fast
Take up my hand in Yours
Cleanse me from all my wayward past
Before life’s pearly doors

Before the day of judgement Lord
Before life’s books lay wide
Before countless, feel true life’s sword
And woeful, cast outside

Let true repentance, stand me by
Let grace, true love’s crown wear
Cause selfishness in me to die
For other souls to care

Wickedness floods my aching heart
Behaving like a fool
Allow this wretch a brand new start
Ending demonic rule

Lord hear these words to You I pray
Crying from heart and soul
That I may run, walk, crawl today
Eager toward life’s Goal

Through grace, through love, life’s truth I see
I’m free through Jesus blood
From death my God You’ve purchased me
To walk the way I should

To walk, to live, to die no more
To count sin’s every cost
To help others through Heaven’s door
Still stumbling blind and lost

Here am I Lord, here I kneel
Voicing my desire
Make me true my God, make me real
Save me from hell’s fire…..
