Taken Poem by Tracy Craighead

Taken

He is only an hour away, but I can't hold him.
I feel the loss like a pit in my stomach.
Carved out of longing...wanting it to be.
Why God, is he so close, yet so far from me?

In the corner of my eye, I see him,
but it can never be,
merely a cruel delusion.
Evil men have taken
you so far from me….

distance and captivity
