I am a talking drum, always mute,
Hanging on the wall of my owner's room,
To please her eyes like Delilah pleasing Samson,
I'm not to please the eyes the most,
I am to be heard.
I am not firewood,
Burning in silence even when the situation gets hotter.
I am a talking drum,
Born to talk, teach, instruct and correct.
I am not like the ground,
Silently bearing the weight and problems of the earth,
I am a talking drum.
I have a dream to be heard around the world,
I am not a portrait to sit in a place and be admired,
I am a talking drum, born to talk.
For long, I've been hanging here,
An elder with no experience,
I have done nothing to earn anything,
I have not risen to say I could fall,
I have been speaking only in silence,
I am a talking drum, I should talk.
