Tambourine Poem by Anna Osipova

Tambourine

Beat your tambourine -
Hear it clank and clink,
Jingle of copper and brass,
Swoosh of the skirt in dance,
Rhythm of stamping feet,
Movements of hands so fleet,
Melody simple and strong…
And nothing can ever go wrong
In circle on town's square,
Bright with the summer fair,
Bright with the flags and skirts
Under the sunny blur,
Under the cloudless sky,
Tambourine never lies!
Look into crystal ball,
Hear what is foretold,
Believe it or not - you choose,
But don't regret if you lose
All money to colourful gang
Of gypsies in caravan.
