Tandpinen - Poem by Jens Baggesen

Min Kone skranter lidt igien.
Den korte Tid forbyder mig, min Ven!
At sige mere tydelig,
Hvorledes hun befinder sig. -
De regner det vel ei saa nøie;
Dog dette maae jeg end tilføie:
I hendes Tunges Land er tusindfold
Tyrannisk Eenevold:
En ormestukken Tand er Thronen -
Kom, kiære Winsløw, kom,
Og riv Despoten om,
Styrt Ludvigen, som plager Konen
Langt meer, end hin kun alt for gode Ludevig
Har nogensinde plaget Frankerig -
Skil den uværdige ved Kronen,
Og lad republikansk Regieringsform
Forjage Smerte, Vold, og Orm!
I Stiil, som koster mindre Hovedbrud:
Træk Tanden ud!
