Taste Of Reality Poem by Alyssa Rieper

Taste Of Reality

I used to think life was simple
When I was a kid, that is
But, now, I have a “taste of reality”
And see the real world’s violence
I cannot explain why we do these things
Why we kill and bully others
Kids running around with drugs and alcohol
Threats of bombs and other unworthy things
But I can also look beyond this
And see the caring people of the world
Helping others when times are tough
God can change everything from bad to good
Next time, before your “taste of reality”
Pray that it will be sweet
And God will answer with love
