Taunt Poem by Mildred Awuor

Taunt

breathe it all in
blooming lilacs
blossoming orchids
torture your lungs
torture your soul.
remember.
memorize it.
every bump.
every valley.
the curve of my smile.
the arch of my back.
let it haunt you.
every step
every stance.
then
they will fade.
the memories.
and it will be nothing;
but blooming lilacs.
and blossoming orchids.
