Tear Away Poem by Kathryn Garner

Tear Away

Provoked through a glass
A vice so untouchable
Such a altering the past
Unapproachable by fire
With lips that speak desire
Ill kill you with a lust to kill

So fragile till she fell
A disaster in the making
Kissing the threshold of hell
Dreading her very rise
She’s nothing but pieces
Of a heart that slowly dies

The shadows promise
The scars will slowly fade
Or she will die
In the deathly shade
Of all the lies she spent
To gain the time that went
So wasted on dead romance
Trying to enhance
A breathless life that ceased to exist
Except through fire in her lips
Through fire, lies in her kiss

Feeds the lines with every sin
With no erasing them away now
Because they know where she’s been
She begs to scream
About everything
She’s overdone
Till now that she’s wasted and done
And they don’t care
Cuz she’s hardly even there
She’s just a scent of her sin
A dead vibe of what she’s in
A loose bribe and she’ll never win
Cuz she’s ripped herself to shreds
Till she’s whispers from being dead
Whispers from the bottom of a bottle
Or the lines on a page
Whispers that wont ever even matter
Because there isn’t a way to salvage, to save
Her empty corpse
And the burdens, the photos of course
On her skin
They can’t wipe away scars
They cant tear away the past
Though that’s the only thing that lasts
The only thing that’s there
A simple reminder that they don’t care
They never will
And they don’t feel
And she won’t heal
Farther than these cold scars
Memories that she was torn apart
She cant tear away the past
The worst love that will last
