Teardrop Poem by Rebecca Bekker

Teardrop

The love you felt for me and mine
was reflected in thine eye
Unrequited and forgotten
It fell into darkness
There to languish

Until one day it was tracked down
dusted off and taken up
It began to shine

I was lost but not forgotten,
Taken up it was too late
To shine upon its own image
The love and life flowing out

It saw the petals of red on my wrists
and o’er the edge it began to slip
The salty rain began to fall
