Tears (2)

It’s not for gain I come to You
Nor for this life, I fear
Alone the truth, have I in view
That’s why my God I’m here

To You, I’m calling out today
My way of life’s too much
Please hear these words to You I pray
Come give Your healing touch

Of course, more tears are bound to fall
If I don’t find release
So hear this sinner’s humble call
Please give Salvation’s peace

Soften this heart of stone my Lord
I’ve seen my evil ways
I’ve erred so much, I can’t afford
To turn from You today

The hurts that flood these eyes of mine
The fears, that rent my soul
Allow me drink Salvation’s wine
Please come and make me whole

Dry up these tears that fall as dew
Send forth Your Liquid Light
Caress this child so close to You
Till fear and doubt take flight

I pray Your Son would set me free
To walk Your chosen path
Would touch these eyes that I may see
To flee the coming wrath

Please say, I’ve no more need to cry
Forgive my wayward past
Give me The Gift that none can buy
To serve You First & Last …
