Tears Poem by Tanmayi Mukundan

Tears

Rating: 3.5

Asking my heart “Why are you sad”
Thinking of lost opportunities I wish I had had,
Filling my heart but drying the eye
For none to see or hear, I cry

Tears of failure, tears of sorrow
Tears of fear for the unknown tomorrow,
Stain my heart and bleed my skin
Swell my throat with pain within

With no hand to wipe, no shoulder to soothe
The storm that stirred my soul so smooth
The only window to wash out my fears
Are now, the silent sparkling tears.
