Tears In Time. Poem by Graham Jones

Tears In Time.

Rating: 5.0

Treading a path, with no end thats in sight
Walking alone in the coldness of night
Feeling the air as it clings to the breath
Listening for sounds, that whisper of death

Counting the heartbeat of one all alone
Passing through rooms no longer a home
The scent of a presence no longer around
The emptiness shattered by the sheer lack of sound

The fear that is tangible, yet cannot be held
That bonds to the soul by an invisible weld
Hope though once cherished in the passing of time
Now just a memory, like a childs nursery rhyme

Souls of the night no future or past
Thoughts of redemption, now lost in the mass
Can life be so cruel, as to strangle the cry
Of a soul in such torment, it begs just to die.
