Tears Near The Big Screen Poem by Kelley Van Heerden

Tears Near The Big Screen

Remembering the time,
our first date... that day.
Skating on ice
as you held my hand,
trying to talk, but no words seem to apear,
you told me you loved me,
and kissed these lips,
As they were so hooked,
they locked together like zips.
We went to the big screen,
you kissed me again,
why, oh why, does this still come across me? ?
Feeding you popcorn,
sipping your juice,
you wiped my tears when they damped,
and giggled when I jumped and screemed.

Today I go to that very same seat,
alone with my shaddow
and memories that cry.
A movie that reminds
me of you
and the tears running down.
I cry as I watch and during the film.
I picture you walking down the aisle,
will it happen?
could it happen?
No
Im afraid thats just my shaddow!
