Teenager Poem by The Electric Messiah

Teenager

Teenager, caught in a storm of complexity
Navigating through a world of uncertainties
Where cults and religions beckon with their lure
And peers judge with their doubts and their sneers
Innocence lost, as the teenage years unfold
Thrown into a battlefield, with no shield to hold
The mind is a battleground, where fear is the foe
And doubts are the arrows, aimed to bring you low
The cults, they promise love and acceptance
But in their grasp, there is only dependence
They prey on the vulnerable, the ones in need
Their twisted beliefs, they sow like a seed
And religions, with their rules and traditions
Can leave a young mind in constant confusion
Forced to follow, a path they did not choose
Their true self, they may never get to use
Then there are peers, with their judgments and remarks
A constant reminder of society's harsh marks
They mock and belittle, for being different
Leaving behind scars, that are often permanent
But dear teenager, do not lose hope
For within you, lies the strength to cope
You are more than the labels they place
Your worth cannot be contained in a race
Embrace your flaws, and your unique traits
Stand tall, and let your voice resonate
For you are a warrior, with a heart so pure
Your light will shine, and their darkness will lure
So hold your head high, and defend yourself
Against the challenges that constantly swell
For you are enough, just the way you are
A teenage warrior, rising above the scars.
