Teenager Finally Freed - Poem by Breanna Verkon

For three years now I’ve been waiting for freedom
Trying to grow up and spit out my bubble gum
I want to go to college, don’t want to be dumb
Tired of sitting around ass up my thumb
Im sick of feeling like a bum
I want to move on from wine to rum
My excited heart beats like a drum
As I think about leaving where I’m from
My feelings become numb
Sometime during this conundrum
