Memories of you capture my mind like a storm,
My heart expresses mixed emotions, torn.

My hopes fade away with the coming of dawn,
Farewell, my love, the hour is upon.

Sorrow bleeds from my heart,
Oh, hide me beneath your wings, dark.

Bloodshed and the cries of past, they've left their mark.
From you, sad poetry found its spark.

Passion died when you passed, died in your breast, died.
I was left in a dry land, left in grief, mourning.

I loved too much, that love is now sorrow, that passionate love
My heart cannot forget that love, my heart cannot.

Like a plume of smoke that fades from sight, that love is gone.
Love of my life, how can I forget, how can I?

I watch the rain drops dripping from the eaves
I think of how they are like tears falling down my face

I think of how you were like a flower in the desert
Like an oasis in the dry land, the only joy around.

You were the radiance in my life, you were the light
You were like a smile on a sad face, in my darkest night.

I was like a desert without any trace of water
But then there was you, and you were like a shower.

The sun is setting, the day is over
The night is like a blanket, covering over the sorrow.

I think of you, I cannot forget your face, I cannot
I search for you in the lonely night, I search for you.

There is nowhere to hide my tears, nowhere to hide my grief
I am drowning in a sea of emotion, I am drowning.

Though my hopes were short, they were true.
Through brokenness and longing, I knew you.
My beloved, my joy, my destiny,
You were my future, my poetry.
In you I am engulfed, as I drown,
But in your love, I am safe and sound.
